3D printing · 3D scanning · reverse engineering

No drawings? Bring the part.

We scan what you have — worn, broken, or still bolted into the machine — rebuild it as a real parametric CAD model, and print you a new one in engineering-grade plastic. You keep the files.

What we do

Four services, one shop, no handoffs.

Most jobs use more than one of these. Scanning feeds the CAD model, the CAD model feeds the printer, and the printed part gets heat-treated if it has to survive something.

Reverse engineering & CAD

$700–2,600 typical · $120/hr hourly

The one we are actually built for. Give us a part and we hand back a clean parametric model, not a messy scan mesh — plus a STEP file you own outright.

  • Native CAD and STEP, delivered with the job
  • Drawings with GD&T when you need them
  • Design-for-manufacture review included
  • Works from a part, a sketch, or a photo and a dimension

3D printing

from $45/part · most $75–150

Single parts to short runs in real engineering thermoplastics — up to 340 mm, up to eight materials in one part, soluble support for internal channels.

  • Carbon-fibre nylon, polycarbonate, PPA and PPS
  • Heat-set inserts and tapped threads, including NPT
  • Multi-material and multi-colour on one plate
  • Setup charged once — quantity drops the per-part price fast

3D scanning

from $340 in-lab · from $900 on-site

Handheld blue-laser metrology scanning. We come to the part when it is too big, too heavy, or still installed — nothing has to leave your floor.

  • 0.02 mm single-frame accuracy
  • Parts from roughly 10 mm to 1 m
  • Mesh, watertight STL, or straight into CAD
  • Mobile rig runs off a laptop anywhere you have a bench

Annealing & heat treatment

from $55 per oven cycle

Turns a printed part into an engineered one. Raises strength, stiffness and heat-deflection temperature — carbon-filled nylon reaches roughly 160 °C HDT after a cycle.

  • Nylon, PA-CF, polycarbonate, PLA and ASA
  • Charged per batch, not per part
  • Optional dimensional check against the model afterward
  • We will tell you when it is not worth doing
The job we do best

The part keeping your line running was discontinued in 2011.

Nobody stocks it. The drawing is gone, or it never existed. Your options are a machine shop that wants a print you do not have, or replacing a working machine over a fourteen-dollar part. Give us the old one — even in pieces, even still bolted in. We scan it, rebuild it as a proper model, and make you new ones. You keep the CAD file, so it never happens again.

Capabilities

The actual machines, and their actual limits.

Published so you can check your part against them before you pick up the phone. These are manufacturer figures; achievable tolerance always depends on geometry and material.

Materials we run

Highlighted grades are the engineering materials most desktop shops cannot print — they need a hardened nozzle, a heated chamber, or a day of drying before the print even starts.

Will your part fit?

Enter the bounding box of your part in millimetres. We will check it against both printers in every orientation, and tell you whether it can also be heat-treated.

Pricing

Published, because you should be able to rule us out in thirty seconds.

Nearly everything is quoted as a fixed price before work starts. These are the ranges real jobs land in.

Minimum order
$75
Any job, any service. A small job costs nearly as much to quote, set up and inspect as a large one — this is the floor that keeps turnaround fast on everything else.
3D printed parts
from $45
Most brackets and housings land $75–150. Short runs drop sharply per part.
Reverse engineering & CAD
$700–2,600
A single bracket near the bottom; a multi-part assembly with drawings at the top.
Design & CAD, hourly
$120/hr
For open-ended work and changes beyond an agreed scope. Billed in 15-minute increments.
3D scanning, in our shop
from $340
Depends on part size and how many setups it takes to capture.
3D scanning, on-site
from $900
We come to you. Plus travel outside the local area.
Annealing
from $55
Per oven cycle, not per part. Twenty parts cost barely more than two.
How it works

Send a photo and a rough size. You get a number the same day.

No drawings needed. If you have a part, we can scan it. If you have a sketch on a napkin, that works too.

What every quote includes

  • An itemised quote — material, machine time and finishing broken out separately, so you can see exactly what to remove if you want it cheaper
  • Native CAD and STEP files on design work. You own them outright, with no hostage files
  • One round of revisions on design and CAD work
  • Process-typical tolerances, written on the quote rather than assumed
  • Quotes hold for 30 days. 50% deposit over $500, balance net 15 on delivery

What we will not claim

  • We are not a certified calibration laboratory. Our scanner is not NIST-traceable, so we do not take inspection-of-record or QC-of-record work
  • Printed tolerances depend on geometry, material and part size. We quote ±0.2 mm as typical, not as a guarantee on every feature
  • We print larger than we can heat-treat. If a part needs annealing, the 372 mm oven is the real limit, not the 340 mm printer
  • Some materials barely benefit from annealing. We will say so rather than sell you a cycle
  • If a job is wrong for us, we will tell you who it is right for
